This morning came some very sad news: Swans have reluctantly had to postpone their ATP Iceland performance until the 2015 festival.
A statement has been released by the band’s representatives:
“Swans have to regretfully postpone ATP Iceland 2014. While not life threatening, Michael Gira has been ordered by his doctors to not fly or perform for a month due to an unexpected medical condition. With some rest and down time, the Swans anticipate touring again in Fall of 2014, and are already rescheduled to perform ATP Iceland 2015.”
There will be replacement band announced shortly.
ATP founder Barry Hogan had this to say: “We are really disappointed to hear that the Swans won’t be joining us for the upcoming festival but we wish Michael Gira a speedy recovery and look forward to him returning to play ATP Iceland 2015.”
