The narrow strip of land, bordered by Faxaflói-bay on one side and the Atlantic ocean on the other, offers a completely unsheltered wideness with view of open sea, mountains of Snæfellsnes and the Snæfells- glacier that is somewhat breathtaking at times.

The main day of the festival is Saturday where people gather at Garðskagi for a show that starts at two o’clock and ends in the sunset close to midnight. The program consist of variety of local and nationally known artist performing on a big stage, market, “soapwater soccer”, beach volleyball and all kind of events for all age groups.
At Garðskagi there are two old lighthouses and the older one, built in 1897, is in the town logo.

At Garðskagi, there is a folk museum of Garður, the café/restaurant, Two lighthouses, Tveir vitar, good facilities for camping and mobilehomes. There are lavatories, running water and electricity.
